This week, Year 3 enjoyed an exciting and informative visit to Safety Works, where they took part in a range of interactive workshops designed to help them stay safe in different situations.

Throughout the day, the children learned how to behave safely around dogs and how to recognise approaches that help both people and animals feel comfortable and secure. They also explored how to stay safe when using the Metro, learning important rules about waiting on platforms, travelling responsibly and knowing what to do if they ever feel worried or unsafe.

The children discovered who to call in an emergency and practised how to give clear information to emergency services to help them respond quickly. They also learned valuable water safety messages, including how to recognise hazards and what to do if they find themselves near water.

As well as learning about physical safety, the children took part in activities focused on mental wellbeing. They discussed ways to look after their minds, manage their feelings and identify trusted adults they can talk to when they need support.

Year 3 represented our school brilliantly throughout the visit. They listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions and fully embraced every activity. We are incredibly proud of how maturely they engaged with the important safety messages and are confident that they have taken away valuable knowledge that will help keep them safe both now and in the future.
