The children had a great day learning about the Romans and their army. They handled artefacts and looked at armour and weapons. They also made their own version of a Roman coin.

Year 4 used decibel meter readings to compare the sound level in different areas of the school. They collected their data and created a bar chart to show their results. The children also explored using different materials to test which was the best insulator of sound.

We have had a great time preparing for Christmas. We helped to decorate the tree, sang carols and we enjoyed a Christmas party. We had a visit from a mischievous elf and even the Grinch visited our school disco. We made an advent calendar to count down to Christmas and carried out acts of kindness each day. Have a great Christmas!

Year 4 planned their own collective worship to reflect on our topic about building bridges. The children used guidance from scripture to write their own sorry prayers which were displayed on the focal area throughout our prayer time.

Year 4 wrote a powerful description of the fire fiend’s grotto. They used fronted adverbials, subordinate clauses and they also included new vocabulary. Well done Year 4!

Year 4 enjoyed their visit to Scotswood Garden where they took part in a tree trail. They also created some wild art using charcoal from the fire pit and turmeric mixed with water to paint. We had a great time.

Year 4 took part in a mini first aid course. They are fantastic first aiders!

Mr Rudkin is very impressed with Year 4 at the start of their Pocket Trumpet journey. Well done Year 4!

Year 4 are enjoying their PE lessons. They are focusing on hockey this term and they have displayed great partner work.
