Nine children from St Joseph’s (Years 4 and 5) celebrated their First Holy Communion on 28th June, alongside pupils from St Bede’s and St George’s schools. It was time for action, when our robotics engineers showcased their talents at a regional competition. This week, the whole school came together to take part in the Stations of the Cross. Each class joined in prayer and reflection as we journeyed through the final moments of Jesus’ life. The children showed great reverence and maturity, taking time to think about Jesus’ love, His sacrifice, and what it means for us today. It was a thoughtful and meaningful experience for our entire school community as we continue our Lenten journey together.

Christmas Lunch The children enjoyed their Christmas lunch on Wednesday 10 th December. A traditional Christmas dinner was served, catering to all children’s dietary and religious needs. This was enjoyed by all!

Part of the choir club visited St Joseph’s Care Home to sing Christmas carols. The residents loved our singing and they have invited us back. The children gave handmade cards to the residents and it was a great afternoon.

Our school came together to honour and remember those who served and sacrificed for peace. Children took part in a special assembly and observed a two-minute silence to show their respect. Each class reflected on the importance of kindness, courage, and gratitude, with messages of hope displayed across our school. We are proud of how our pupils embraced this meaningful day and helped keep the spirit of remembrance alive.

Children were able to participate in a number of activities including a ‘Name the European Flag’ competition, a ‘Design a T-Shirt Logo’ competition and playing ‘Which language is it?’ by listening to clips of people talking in one of 38 European Languages.
