Nursery – Week Beginning 9th March 🌟

This week in nursery our focus story has been “The Little Red Hen.” 📚🐔 The story follows a hardworking little hen who grows wheat, turns it into flour, and then uses the flour to bake a delicious cake.

Inspired by the story, we put this to the test and used flour to make our own biscuits! 🍪 The children carefully followed a recipe, measured ingredients, and mixed everything together before baking them. The results were absolutely delicious! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

We also had lots of fun retelling the story together, helping to build our confidence with storytelling and remembering the sequence of events. To link with our early maths skills, the children practised number formation by writing numbers in flour, which was a fun and sensory way to develop their mark-making skills. 🔢✋

What a fun (and messy!) week of learning, baking, and storytelling! ✨
